A simple mix up of ingredients for the Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca/University of Oxford coronavirus vaccines was said to occur at Emergent BioSolutions plant.
U.S. government has put Johnson & Johnson in charge of the Emergent BioSolutions plant and also prohibited AstraZeneca from using the same facility.
Johnson & Johnson has promised to deliver almost 100 million doses of its vaccine to the US government by the end of May now. Currently, the US has fully vaccinated 61 million people, of which 4 million people had received Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose shot, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
